CINCINNATI, Ohio.- Friday afternoon and for the second consecutive game, Cincinnati’s Matej Pekar was the star of the game, registering two goals in a 5-2 win against the Wheeling Nailers.

It was a scoreless first period, with only 11 total shots on goal for both teams. In the second period, Cincinnati jumped ahead with two goals inside the 6-minute mark with Luka Burzan and Matej Pekar goals, respectively. The Nailers got one back when Dillon Hamaliuk beat Talyn Boyko with 37 seconds left in the period.

Despite Wheeling outshooting Cincinnati 17-8 in the final period, the Cyclones came out on top, scoring two empty-netters in the final minutes, with Lincoln Griffin registering the game-winning goal in his first game back with Cincinnati. Talyn Boyko made 32 saves for the Cyclones.
