
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays achieved a shutout victory over the Worcester Railers for the second time in a week, with a final score of 3-0. This shutout marked goaltender Garin Bjorklund‘s first of the season, as he made 23 saves during the game. Erik Middendorf scored got two assists in this game.
Neither team managed to score during the first period despite numerous power play opportunities on both sides. The Stingrays led in shots on goal 11-7 after the initial 20 minutes of play.
Jamie Engelbert scored for South Carolina two minutes and 18 seconds into the second period. He scored with a wrist shot, beating Worcester goaltender Hugo Ollas on his glove side. Middendorf and Blake Thompson picked up the assist on Engelbert’s 14th goal of the season.
In the third period, the Stingrays increased their lead to 2-0. Alexander Suzdalev took advantage of a rebound from the goal line, following a shot by Stingrays captain Jacob Graves, with Austin Magera providing the secondary assist.
With just over three minutes left in the game, Tyler Weiss scored, making it 3-0 for the Stingrays, with Micah Miller picking up the assist.
