Per TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, Penguins GM Kyle Dubas is reportedly taking calls on all of his roster, minus the core four of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Erik Karlsson, and Kris Letang.

One of the players who is a likely and top candidate to be moved in the next two weeks is forward Reilly Smith. Smith was acquired by the Pens from the Vegas Golden Knights during the summer.

So far for Smith, he has ten goals and 23 points in 47 games played, with a +1 rating. Smith is under contract until 2025 with a $5-million cap hit.

Dubas also held a press conference today, saying that the Penguins play the next two weeks will determine the future of forward Jake Guentzel, but it is still possible that he stays a Penguin when it is all said and done.

The Penguins are currently sitting in seventh in the Metropolitan Division and eight points behind the Detroit Red Wings for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. It would be the second straight season the Penguins have failed to make the postseason after making it the previous 16 years.

The NHL Trade Deadline is set for March 8th at 3 PM EST. It will be Kyle Dubas’ first trade deadline for his new team after being with the Toronto Maple Leafs last summer.
