Bobby McMann was born on June 15, 1996, in Wainwright, Alberta. The big forward played for the Wainwright Polar Kings U15 team during the 2009-10 season and scored 14 goals with 18 assists in 28 games. The next season, McMann joined the Lloydminster Heat U15 team and recorded ten goals and 19 assists in 33 games. During the 2011-12 season, McMann moved on to the Lloydminster Rage U16 team and tallied 22 goals and 26 assists in 38 games. McMann was a member of the Lloydminster Bobcats U18 team the next year and totaled seven goals and 18 assists in 32 games.

For three seasons, McMann was on the Bonnyville Pontiacs, where he was the Assistant Captain for two of those campaigns. In 152 games total, McMann had 68 goals and 61 assists. McMann committed to Colgate University for the 2015-16 season and spent four years there, one as an Assistant Captain and one as a Captain. In 145 total games, McMann had 37 goals and 55 assists. McMann was described as a “big-bodied all-around forward that has good offensive instincts and excellent positional awareness during unfolding plays. He plays a power game and drives the net hard. McMann is a fluid skater who has room to improve near the top of his acceleration to become more explosive. His maturity, character, and willingness to do what it takes to win which is embodied by his humility in taking the time to improve upon and learn all aspects of multiple roles. McMann played two seasons with the Toronto Marlies from 2020-22 and played 82 games total with 26 goals and 13 assists. and also played 18 games with the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder.

Bobby McMann Signs a Two-Year Contract With the Toronto Maple Leafs

On April 30, 2022, the Toronto Maple Leafs signed Bobby McMann to a two-year contract worth $1.53 million. McMann played ten games with the Leafs and registered an assist. On March 13, 2024, McMann secured another two-year contract with the Maple Leafs worth $2.70 million. The 2024-25 season has been McMann’s best, with 17 goals and eight assists in 47 games through February 18, 2025.
