
Brady Tkachuk was born on September 16, 1999, in Phoenix, Arizona. Brady comes from a family of hockey players as his father, Keith, played 1,201 regular season NHL games with three teams and totaled 1,065 points. Brady’s brother Matthew is a forward on the Florida Panthers, and several cousins have played in the NHL.
Brady Tkachuk played for the St. Louis AAA Blues U14 team during the 2013-14 season and recorded 18 goals and 15 assists in 26 games. The next season, for the U16 team, the left-shot forward totaled 15 goals and 28 assists in 30 contests. Tkachuk joined the United States National Team Development Program for the 2015-16 season for the U17 team and registered nine goals and 16 assists in 55 games and also played 32 games against USHL teams and recorded eight points.
Tkachuk also played in the World Hockey Championships that season and tallied five points in five games. Tkachuk would win a Gold Medal in the World Junior Championships with the U18 team while registering seven points. The left wing had a breakout season in 2016-17 with 54 points in 61 games before committing to Boston University. Tkachuk played one season with the Terriers and won the Hockey East championship while making the All-Rookie Team.

The Ottawa Senators Drafted Brady Tkachuk in the First Round of the 2018 NHL Draft
Brady Tkachuk was chosen with the fourth overall selection in the first round of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound forward left college hockey and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Ottawa worth $2.78 million on August 13, 2018.
Brady Tkachuk’s NHL Debut to Today
Tkachuk made his NHL debut on October 8, 2018, against the Boston Bruins while playing 14:33 of ice time, with three hits and two shots on goal. Two days later, Tkachuk scored the first two goals of his NHL career against the Philadelphia Flyers and would finish his rookie season with 22 goals and 23 assists in 71 games, earn All-Rookie honors, and place fifth in Calder Trophy voting for Rookie of the Year. Brady Tkachuk has played in three All-Star games and recently was a member of Team USA in the Four Nations Tournament.
On October 14, 2021, Tkachuk signed a seven-year, $57.56 million contract to stay with the Senators and has been captain for the last four seasons. Tkachuk has registered 183 goals and 210 assists in 496 regular season games through February 21, 2025.
