Connor Brown was born on January 14, 1994, in Etobicoke, ON, CAN. He is a Canadian right-winger who’s had a solid career in the NHL. Standing at 6’0 and weighing 185 lbs, he is right-handed on the ice. Brown’s early hockey years were in the Toronto area, and he later played in the OHL with the Erie Otters. During his time with the Erie Otters, his head coach was Kris Knoblauch, and he was a teammate of Connor McDavid, just like now on the Edmonton Oilers.

Drafted By Toronto in 2012

Selected 156th overall in the 6th round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brown spent his early years moving between the Maple Leafs and their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. He later gained more consistent NHL playing time. After his stint in Toronto, he played for the Ottawa Senators for 3 years before joining the Washington Capitals, where he was unfortunately sidelined due to a torn ACL injury. In July 2023, the Edmonton Oilers signed him as a free agent. Although he faced challenges in the 2023-2024 regular season, Brown excelled in the playoffs, contributing significantly to the team’s penalty-killing unit and scoring multiple momentum-swinging shorthanded goals on their road to the Stanley Cup Final.

Following his impressive playoff performance, the Edmonton Oilers re-signed Connor Brown to a 1-year contract worth $1 million on July 1st. His outstanding play on the penalty kill, especially alongside Mattias Janmark, was very impressive and surprising for many Oilers fans. Despite struggling to score goals during the regular season, Brown’s first goal as an Oiler was a memorable moment at Rogers Place, as fans cheered loudly for him. Looking ahead to the next season, Brown is determined to get some “unfinished business” alongside a motivated Oilers team with aspirations of winning the Stanley Cup.
