Jaret Anderson-Dolan was born on September 12th, 1999, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is a forward who primarily plays centre, but also plays either wing. Anderson-Dolan, 24, has played previously for the Los Angeles Kings and Nashville Predators in the NHL and presently the Winnipeg Jets. He is listed at 5-foot-11 and 201 pounds and shoots left-handed. His early playing days were captured by playing for private school teams, most notably the Edge School Mountaineers Bantam AAA team where Anderson-Dolan posted 126 points in 59 games as a 14-year-old. He would later be drafted 14th overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft by the Spokane Chiefs.

Drafted 41st Overall by the Los Angeles Kings

Heading into the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Anderson-Dolan was making his mark with the Spokane Chiefs as an alternate captain and top point scorer. He posted 76 points (39G, 37A) in 72 games during his draft-eligible season. This was enough to raise his draft stock and put more eyes on the young star.

On June 24th, 2017, Jaret Anderson-Dolan heard his name called at 41st overall by the Los Angeles Kings. He signed his three-year entry-level contract (ELC) on September 25th, 2017 and would play the following two seasons with the Spokane Chiefs. Anderson-Dolan posted 91 points (40G, 51A) in 70 games as an alternate captain in the 2017-18 season. He would later be loaned by the Kings to their AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign, on April 6th, 2018 where he posted two assists/points.

He made his NHL debut the following season on October 7th, 2018 and recorded his first assist and point on October 11th. He would later be reassigned to the Spokane Chiefs after just five NHL games. However, Anderson-Dolan was named a co-captain of the Chiefs alongside his teammate Ty Smith. Anderson-Dolan wrapped up his WHL career with 236 points (113G, 123A) in 244 games across five seasons with the Chiefs.

ELC Slide Twice, Contract Extensions & Claimed Off Waivers by Nashville

After Anderson-Dolan spent two seasons with the Chiefs after he was drafted, his ELC was eligible to slide the first two years of the contract. After an 11-point season (7G, 4A) with the Kings in 2020-21 and 12 points (7G, 5A) in 2022-23, Anderson-Dolan found himself stuck as a forward who is good in the AHL but not that great to make the starting 12 in the NHL.

For the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, he received no qualifying offers, instead having a league minimum contract extension with the Kings. On March 6th, 2024, Anderson-Dolan found himself on waivers to be reassigned to the Ontario Reign but instead was claimed by the Nashville Predators.

He suited up for just one game for the Predators and posted no points. The Predators opted to release Anderson-Dolan to the unrestricted free agency (UFA) market on July 1st, 2024. With 28 points (15G, 13A) in 127 career NHL games at the time of writing, Anderson-Dolan could be a great young depth addition to teams looking to sign him for a year or two. He also boasts 79 points (34G, 45A) in 115 career AHL games at the time of writing.

Signed by the Winnipeg Jets for Two Years

Jaret Anderson-Dolan didn’t have to wait long to be signed when the UFA period opened. He accepted a contract offer from the Winnipeg Jets on July 2nd, 2024, which will expire at the end of the 2025-26 season. He will be an arbitration-eligible restricted free agent (RFA) in the 2026 offseason.

Internationally, Anderson-Dolan has represented Team Canada at the 2017 U18 World Junior Championship (WJC) and the 2019 U20 WJC Tournaments. He won a U17 WHC Gold Medal in 2016 and a World Championship Gold Medal in 2021.
