The Detroit Red Wings play their third preseason game tonight as they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Red Wings are coming off a 2-0 win over the Blackhawks last night while the Penguins are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Sabres on Tuesday night.

Detroit: Ville Husso (18-9-5, 3.55 GAA) / Sebastian Cossa (22-9-9, 2.41 GAA)

Husso will get the first two periods, he got the start on Wednesday stopping 15 of the 17 shots he faced. Last season he went 18-9-5 with a 3.55 goals against average and an .892 save percentage. Cossa will get the third, he also played in Wednesday’s game in relief stopping all ten shots and picked up the win. Pittsburgh: Tristan Jarry (19-25-5, 2.91 GAA) / Filip Larsson (19-9-0, 1.93 GAA)

Jarry gets the start in net, last season in 51 games he went 19-25-5 with a 2.91 goals against average and a .903 save percentage with a career-high six shutouts; this is his first game of the preseason. Larsson last season played for Leksands IF of the Swedish hockey league, he played in 28 games going 19-9-0 with a 1.93 goals against average and a .920 save percentage with five shutouts; he played last Saturday allowing one goal on 19 total shots.

Detroit: Carter Mazur (17-20-37)

Mazur last season played in 60 games at Grand Rapids recording 37 points on 17 goals and 20 assists. On Wednesday night he recorded an assist on Jeff Perry’s goal.

Pittsburgh: Jesse Puljujarvi (3-1-4)

Puljujarvi last season in the first year of his two-year deal with Pittsburgh played in 22 games recording four points on three goals and an assist. This preseason, the one game he played in last Saturday had all three goals in a 7-3 loss.
