Detroit: Cam Talbot (0-1-0, 2.03 GAA)

Talbot will play all three periods tonight; he’s played in two games this preseason in his first game he played 20 minutes stopping all nine shots then in the second game on Monday in the split squad he struggled allowing two goals on 11 shots in just under 40 minutes of play for a 2.03 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.

Toronto: Anthony Stolarz (1-0-0, 1.71 GAA) / Artur Akhtyamov (0-0-0, 0.00 GAA)

Stolarz this preseason has appeared in two games stopping 24 of the 26 shots he faced in 70 minutes of ice time. Last season he played in 27 games for the Florida Panthers going 16-7-2 with a 2.03 goals against average and a .925 save percentage; he also played in the playoffs posting a 5.17 goals against average and an .842 save percentage. Akhtyamov will be the other goalie, he hasn’t played yet this preseason. Last season he played at Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL and Neftyanik Almetievsk of the VHL. In the KHL he appeared in 39 games going 6-7-0 with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage, in the VHL he appeared in 19 games going 10-5-4 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

Players To Watch

2023-24 stats

Detroit: Marco Kasper (14-24-35)

Kasper is getting a look tonight centering the second line with Tarasenko and Kane which will be something to watch from the kid. In the preseason in two games, he’s recorded a point on an assist; he’s an even plus/minus and has five shots on goal. Last season in 71 games with Grand Rapids he recorded 35 points on 14 goals and 21 assists, he was a plus nine as well. In the playoffs he had seven points in nine games on four goals and three assists; he was a plus-one. He started this season playing in Austria, in International play he’s played in five games recording three points all on goals, and is a plus-three.

Toronto: Max Pacioretty (2-1-3)

Pacioretty this preseason in two games has three points on two goals and an assist which came in his first game as a member of the Maple Leafs. Combined in his two games he has seven shots on goal, a plus two, and an average of 15 minutes and 39 seconds of ice time. Last season with the Capitals, in 47 games he had 23 points on four goals and 19 assists.
