Casper Nassen was born on April 11, 2004, in Norrtalje, Sweden. Nassen’s older brother, Linus, played two seasons as a defenseman in the Western Hockey League for Medicine Hat and is currently with Jukurit of the Finnish Liiga. Casper played during the 2019-20 season for SDE HC U16 in Sweden and scored 19 goals with 17 assists in 19 games before jumping to the J18 team for 10 games. The next season, the winger would join Vaxjo Lakers HC J18, the same program as fellow Bruins prospect Philip Svedeback. In a COVID-shortened season, Nassen played nine games.

During the 2021-22 season, Nassen split time with Vaxjo and Vasteras and climbed all the way to the J20 Nationell League. In 2022-23, Nassen became captain of Vasteras and scored 23 goals with 17 assists in 48 games.

The Boston Bruins Select Casper Nassen in the Seventh Round of the 2023 NHL Draft

Casper Nassen was drafted by the Bruins with the 214th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NHL Draft. Dobber Prospects described Nassen as a “a big winger standing at 6-4, Nassen was ranked 138th among European skaters by NHL Central Scouting. He had a successful season in the J20 Swedish League, totaling 40 points in 48 games. Nassen’s size and playing style should be better suited for North America, but his chances of being a factor when he eventually finishes his college career are low”.

Nassen committed to the University of Miami of Ohio after a season with Frolunda in Sweden’s J20 Nationell where he collected 31 points. Nassen will play his freshman year at Miami of Ohio during the 2024-25 season.

Player Profile: Zach Hyman

Zach Hyman isn’t your typical goal scorer. He may have appeared like it last season when he potted a combined 70 between the regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs, but that’s never been what defines his game. He’s also the guy who hustles, does the dirty work, and creates space for his more skilled linemates. […]
