The Boston Bruins Select Elliott Groenewold in the Fourth Round of the 2024 NHL Draft
Groenewold was chosen by the Boston Bruins in the fourth round of the 2024 NHL Draft with the 110th overall pick. The Bruins liked Groenewold’s size and aggressive style, which Elite Prospects pointed out pre-draft with the following assessment:
”As the off-puck defender, Groenewold’s high-pace, high-aggression style stands out. He locks down threats around the net, jumps into passing lanes, and diffuses multi-variable situations with ease. When defending the rush, he pivots early and surfs across to force the attacker wide”.
Groenewold has committed to Quinnipiac University for the 2024-25 season and will be teammates with fellow Bruins’ prospect Chris Pelosi (3rd round, 2023).
