Fraser Minten was born on July 5, 2004, in Vancouver, British Columbia. The left-shot forward played for the West Van Academy U15 club in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League during the 2017-18 season and scored nine goals with 29 assists in 26 games while contributing five points in the postseason.

The following season, Minten moved onto the Bantam team and tallied 15 goals and a league-leading 50 assists in 29 games, making the All-Academic Team. During the 2019-20 season, Minten joined the U18 team and registered 20 goals and 41 assists in 34 games. During the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, the Kamloops Blazers selected Minten in the fourth round with the 72nd overall pick.

In the Western Hockey League, Minten spent parts of four seasons with Kamloops and 36 games with the Saskatoon Blades. With 187 regular season games, Minten totaled 77 goals and 111 assists while registering 16 goals and 18 assists in 43 postseason games. In the 2024 playoffs, Minten registered a plus-19 rating. Minten was captain of Team Canada U20 team in the 2020 World Junior Championships.

The Toronto Maple Leafs Drafted Fraser Minten in the Second Round of the 2022 NHL Draft

With the 38th overall draft pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, the Toronto Maple Leafs selected Fraser Minten in the second round. Minten was ranked 28th by Central Scouting entering the draft. Elite Prospects had the following description of Minten’s game: “Shooting and physicality are Minten’s defining skills. A powerful one-timer, a smooth curl-and-drag wrister, and two-touch wristers make him equally effective shooting in space as he is under pressure.”

Fraser Minten’s NHL Debut to Today

On October 11, 2023, Minten made his debut with the Maple Leafs against the Montreal Canadiens and played 11:32 of ice time over 14 shifts, registering one shot on goal. Minten played four straight games and was demoted to the Toronto Marlies. Minten scored his first NHL goal against the Vegas Golden Knights on November 20, 2024, and scored on December 2, 2024 against Chicago.

On March 7, 2025, Minten was traded to the Boston Bruins with a conditional first-round pick in 2026 and a fourth-round selection in 2025 for defenseman Brandon Carlo and is currently playing for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
