The Boston Bruins Draft Jackson Edward in the Seventh Round of the 2022 NHL Draft

Edward was drafted with the 200th pick overall in the 2022 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins. Elite Prospects described the seventh-round choice as” violent, and he uses that violence to emphatically kill plays at the blue line and end the cycle. If given space while receiving the puck, Edward often makes a positive play. He’ll even draw in forechecking pres- sure by skating towards it or cutting back, then hitting the gas pedal before starting the breakout”. Edward’s offensive game had improved dramatically as well.

Jackson Edward Signs an Entry-Level Contract with the Bruins

Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced on October 25, 2023, that the team had signed defenseman Jackson Edward to a three-year entry-level contract with an annual NHL cap hit of $860,000. Edward will play with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League during the 2024-25 season as he attempts to make the NHL.
