PWHL Boston signs Daniela Pejasova

Boston has signed another draft pick this off-season. There will now be two Czech faces in the city of Boston, with the addition of Daniela Pejasova. On Thursday Morning, PWHL Boston announced they had signed the Czech defender to a three-year contract through the 2026-27 season. Here is what PWHL Boston general manager Danielle Marmer had to say about this signing:

“The Bruins aren’t the only Boston hockey team with a Czech player to be excited about. Daniela is an explosive and dynamic defender with bite to her game,” said PWHL Boston General Manager Danielle Marmer. “At only 21 years of age, she’s a natural-born competitor with a willingness to impact every time she’s on the ice. I can’t wait to see her take her game to the next level during her three years in Boston, and hopefully long after. The ceiling doesn’t exist for a player like Daniela.”

A great skater and a physical player, Pejasova is not new to winning on the professional and international levels. She spent six seasons in the SDHL and helped Luleå win back-to-back championships. Here are her stats from the past six seasons in the SDHL:

Erik Mårtensson

2018-19 (Modo): Recorded 6 points (3-3) in four games.

2019-20: Recorded 4 points (2-2) in three games.

2020-21: Recorded 14 points (8-6) in 14 games.

2021-22: Recorded 22 points (10-12) in 16 games.

2022-23 (Lulea): Recorded 22 points (6-16) in 17 games.

2023-24: Recorded 15 points (4-11) in 14 games.

  • These stats give her a 1.22 PPG. The player with the highest PPG on Bosto (regular season) was Susanna Tapani, she had 13 points in 26 games which gave her a 0.5 PPG.

Pejasova has won two bronze medals at the IIHF World Championship and was named the tournament’s best defender in 2022.

Here is what Pejasova has to say about her contract:

“I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity to play in the PWHL and especially to sign with Boston for three years,” says Pejšová. “Definitely looking forward to putting on the green and white jerseys, I’m going to do my best to represent Boston on and off the ice the best I can! Can’t wait to see what this new chapter will bring to me.”

Pejasova will bring a lot of physicality and speed to Boston for the next three seasons. She is a two-way player who can dominate on defense and put shots in the back of the net on offense.
