The Boston Fleet will host reigning Walter Cup Champions the Minnesota Frost in their home opener. This game is a match-up from the finals. Both teams looking for their first win of the season. This new Minnesota team is fast and physical, Boston is known to be a physical team and they have multiple offensive weapons but they have yet to show their potential. This will not be a game any PWHL fans want to miss.

Boston Fleet Notes:

Boston had a great first period against Toronto over the weekend. The flame was quickly put out, and Boston struggled towards the end of the game. They are hoping to get their first win of the season. They experienced similar issues towards the end of the game that we saw last season.

Minnesota Frost Notes:

Minnesota is looking to get their first regulation in this match-up. They blew a 2 goal lead in the second period. They scored the equalizer later in the third period to bring the game to overtime. Alex Carpenter and Sarah Fillier quickly put out the flame just 20 seconds into overtime.

Boston–

Boston’s player to watch this game will be the captain, Hannah Bilka. Bilka is Boston 2024 first-round draft pick. In the season opener Bilka collected a secondary assist on Boston’s only goal, scored by Hilary Knight. She brings depth and speed to Boston’s offensive lines.

Toronto–

Toronto’s player to watch is Sophie Jacques. Jacques was originally a part of Boston’s inaugural roster. She was soon traded (Boston received Susanna Tapani and Abby Cook in return). Jacques already has one point this season. She is known for her speed on defense. She also has the ability to create plays on offense.
