The Fleet and Sirens faced off for the fourth time this season. Heading into the game, Boston was undefeated against New York. New York was on a four-game losing streak.

First Period

Alina Müller gave Boston the lead halfway through the first period. This was her fourth goal of the season. Her goal came off a rebound from Hilary Knight’s shot.

Second Period

Jessie Eldridge got New York on the board to tie the game up on a breakaway. The Fleet had a badly timed line change during the penalty kill that isolated Eldridge in their zone.

Hilary Knight scored for the Fleet after she beat New York’s defense. This allowed her to find herself on the breakaway.

Third Period

Jamie Lee Rattray gave her team the two-goal lead on one of the weirdest goals in PWHL history. She seemed to be trying to pass the puck in front of the net. However, she managed to slip it off Kayla Osborne’s pads.

New York made a desperate attempt to get back in the game by pulling their goalie. Boston’s Hilary Knight got the empty net goal to put this game away.

Final Notes

The Fleet has a two-game win streak. New York is on a 5-game losing streak. They are still winless against Boston this season. Boston will play their next game on Thursday, Feb. 20. against the Ottawa Charge.
