After an 8-2 thrashing against the New York Rangers on Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings can’t leave Michigan fast enough. The Red Wings started November with three consecutive wins and a shootout loss to Montreal before the debacle in Detroit.
This will be a terrific opportunity for the players and coaching staff to bond away from Little Caesars Arena. With a 7-4-3 record, the Red Wings are currently fourth in the Atlantic Division. The team has a 2-2-1 record away from home, and the trip should be a defining moment in the November schedule.
The Red Wings are set to go on the road for their longest trip before the Christmas break. They begin the trip tonight in Los Angeles against the Kings. Game time is 10:30 PM ET at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA. The Kings are currently on a three-game winning streak and have a 9-6-1 record, good for second place in the Pacific Division. Forward Gabriel Vilardi leads the Kings with ten goals and a +3 rating.
The Red Wings then have two days off before traveling to play the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday. Game time is 10:00 PM ET at Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. The Ducks are currently on a two-game losing streak and have a 4-9-1 record, good for seventh in the Pacific Division. Anaheim will be without sophomore defenseman Jamie Drysdale who has a torn labrum and is expected to miss 4-6 months.
The Red Wings will then travel to San Jose to play the Sharks on Thursday. Game time is 10:30 PM ET at SAP Center in San Jose, CA. The Sharks are currently on a one-game losing streak and have a record of 3-9-3, placing them eighth in the Pacific Division. Defenseman Erik Karlsson leads the Sharks with ten goals and 21 points in 15 games.
The final game of the road trip will take the Red Wings to Columbus to play the Blue Jackets. Game time next Saturday is 7:00 PM ET at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH. The Blue Jackets are currently on a one-game winning streak and have a record of 4-9-0, good for eighth in the Metropolitan Division. Columbus will be without Zach Werenski, who will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
