Report: Boston Bruins sign James Van Riemsdyk

The Boston Bruins are reportedly signing James Van Riemsdyk to a one-year, one-million-dollar contract. The Bruins have a lot of holes to fill after a record-breaking season last year, and they have now added JVR, who will add some value to their lineup, and the money works out perfectly for them with their salary cap space.

James Van Riemsdyk, by the numbers

This coming season will be Van Riemsdyk’s 15th as he has spent time with the Philadelphia Flyers on two stints, and the Bruins rival the Toronto Maple Leafs. Throughout his career, he has played in 940 games and recorded 591 points with 300 career goals and 291 assists; he also has a career of 151 power play points, coming on 87 goals and 64 assists. Last season for the Flyers, he appeared in 61 games, recording 29 points coming off 12 goals and 17 assists. There was a rumor of him being traded to the Red Wings at the trade deadline, but that fell through, and now he will sign with the Bruins for the 2023-24 season.
