With the 2022 NHL Entry Draft in the rearview mirror, the Bruins can now focus on free agency signings. The Bruins selected three centers in this year’s draft to bolster down the middle for the future. Now they have turned their heads to address the issue of their top six down the middle for next season. Reports have been floating around that Patrice Bergeron is coming back, but that still remains to be seen as a contract is still not in place with free agency opening in two days. The Bruins did receive excellent news today as reports have surfaced regarding center David Krejci and his return to Boston. Krejci is currently in negotiations to return to Boston, a great sign as the Bruins need to improve their second-line center spot.
If the Bruins can lock down the 36-year-old Krejci, they will be in a good spot to begin next season. With all the injuries surrounding the team, having a veteran player like him who already has established chemistry with Taylor Hall and David Pastrnak will be essential for this team to get their offense going. For Bruins fans, hopefully, this will be the first of many dominoes to fall during free agency as the roster needs turnover if they want to contend for a Stanley Cup.
