Vladimir Tarasenko, by the numbers

Vladimir Tarasenko is entering his 12th season in the NHL; he started his career with the St. Louis Blues playing there for 10.5 seasons before being traded to the New York Rangers. He has played in 675 games recording 574 points on 270 goals and 304 assists; he is also a +61 in his career and has recorded 159 Power-Play Points. Last season between the Blues and Rangers, he played in 69 games registering 50 points on 18 goals and 32 assists, was a -14, and recorded 14 power-play points on three goals and 11 assists.

Bottom Line for the Carolina Hurricanes

Tarasenko has chosen the Hurricanes over the Ottawa Senators; his coming to Carolina is a big signing for the Hurricanes. He gives them a big-name potent scorer they need and can make a difference in the future. It is a huge signing for a team that won the Metropolitan Division and is looking to continue making the playoffs, and this move may get them over the hump to get to the Stanley Cup Finals and even win it.
