There is no doubt that replacing Sam Rosen as the voice of the New York Rangers will not be an easy task.
Rosen has been the team’s broadcaster for 40 seasons and has accomplished so much during that span. He is going to be more than missed when it comes to watching and listening to Rangers hockey games.
With that said, the voice that is replacing him is a familiar one to Blueshirts fans. Mollie Walker, Rangers beat writer for the New York Post, reported on Monday, April 14 that Kenny Albert will be the voice of the Rangers once Rosen retires after this season.
Kenny Albert has been the team’s radio broadcaster since the 1995-96 season while also broadcasting NHL games for the likes of TNT, NBC, NBCSN, NHL Radio, Westwood ONE, OLN, and Versus. He is one of the best hockey broadcasters working today and is someone that Rangers fans will be lucky to watch and listen to for however long Albert wants the job.
There is no doubt that this has been a terrible season for the Blueshirts. From bad management, to bad coaching, to poor play, and to missing the playoffs after being the best team in the league last year, everything that could have gone wrong for the team this year did.
With that said, one thing that did go right and one right decision that was made was for Albert to be the team’s next television voice.
