Recently, the mass exodus from the Calgary Flames began, and the reports came out that the Flames had permitted Lucic to talk to other teams about signing with them in Free Agency.
Reports coming out on Draft Day from Rick Daliwahl that Milan Lucic will reunite with the Boston Bruins this offseason.
While it is highly unlikely the Bruins would give up any assets for the rights to Lucic, this will be a Free Agent deal that gets done on the first weekend of Free Agency. I would expect that the deal is around $1m AAV, though I hope it is league minimum. Let’s be frank, Lucic isn’t what he once was and will likely be a fourth-liner on the Bruins. However, with the centennial season approaching, the Bruins are obviously leaning into some nostalgia.
Random thought: Could this be a little chumming of the water to try and entice Bergeron and Krejci to return? Time will tell..
