It has been announced that Pat Verbeek has recently spoken with Pierre LeBrun, and in their discussion he mentioned that he is actively listening to offers on Trevor Zegras. This has been rumored for quite some time over this past year but it’s never truly been confirmed by the Ducks or their GM until now.

Zegras’ value might be lower than ever at this time. He recently underperformed in the IIHF World Championship, recording only 2 points in 8 games, on a very stacked US lineup. He also struggled a lot during the regular season with Anaheim as he only had 15 points in 31 games. He did perform much better this last year defensively but that isn’t going to help his trade value much when he drops in points.
The Ducks GM, Pat Verbeek wasn’t the guy who drafted Zegras, so it woulnd’t be shocking to see him trade Z if he felt that he didn’t match their future plans, similar to that of Jamie Drysdale. Jamie Drysdale was one of their high selections in the NHL Draft but was then swapped for Cutter Gauthier earlier on in the 2023-24 season.
With Zegras on the block, I’d expect a lot more coverage about the possibilities of where he could end up, and for what cost.
