Early on Tuesday, Sabres Head Coach Don Granato announced that Owen Power sustained an injury during practice and would be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Power has 18 points in 51 games so far this season and will look to get back in the lineup to finish out the season. Power is currently in the final season of his Entry-Level Contract before his seven-year, $58.45m contract kicks in.

Things will continue to get more interesting for the Sabres. As they sit in the bottom quarter of the NHL standings, they are likely to sell off some assets at the Trade Deadline and look to improve their young core for the future.

While Power is out of the lineup, Sabres management will get a good look at their blueline depth heading into the deadline, a place they are rumored to be looking for some help.
