
The San Jose Sharks entered this offseason with money to spend, and today they signed forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year deal with a $3 million AAV. Skinner, this season in 72 games with the Edmonton Oilers, recorded 29 points on 16 goals and 13 assists. He was a plus-one with two power-play points and a game-winning goal. In the playoffs, he appeared in five games, recording a goal and an assist. He was a minus-one.

Jeff Skinner
The Carolina Hurricanes drafted Skinner with the seventh overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He spent his first eight seasons with Carolina. In 579 games, he recorded 379 points on 204 goals and 175 assists. He was a -96 with 98 power-play points and 28 game-winning goals. He was then traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 2018. In six seasons with the Sabres, he played in 427 games, recording 291 points on 153 goals and 138 assists. He was a -34 with 64 power-play points and 18 game-winning goals. This past season was his first and only in Edmonton.
This coming season will be his 16th in the NHL. He’s played in 1078 career games, sitting just one point shy of 700. He has 373 goals and 326 assists. Skinner is a -129 with 164 power-play points and 47 career game-winning goals. He won the Calder Memorial Trophy in his first season in 2010-11 in 82 games, and he had 63 points on 31 goals and 32 assists. He was a plus-three with 18 power-play points and two game-winning goals.
