
The San Jose Sharks today signed their second overall pick in this past NHL Entry Draft, Michael Misa. The 18-year-old forward played last season as the captain of the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL. Misa, in 65 games, had 134 points on 62 goals and 72 assists. He was a +45 with 21 power-play goals, four shorthanded goals, 11 game-winning goals, and 45 penalty minutes. In four playoff games, he had three points on two goals and an assist. He was a minus-ten with two power-play goals.

Michael Misa
Misa, in his first season in the OHL with the Spirit, played in 45 games. He had 56 points on 22 goals and 34 assists. Misa was a plus-seven with six power-play goals, three game-winning goals, and ten penalty minutes. In 11 playoff games, he had eight points on three goals and five assists. He was a plus-one with six penalty minutes. Misa also played in seven games for Canada Red U17 in the WHC-17. He had six points on three goals and three assists. In his second season with the Spirit, he played in 67 games, recording 75 points on 29 goals and 46 assists. He was a plus-three with 11 power-play goals, four game-winning goals, and 26 penalty minutes. Misa also played in 17 playoff games, recording 11 points on four goals and seven assists. He was a plus-two with two game-winning goals and two penalty minutes.
In 177 games in the OHL combined, he had 265 points on 113 goals and 152 assists. He was a +55 with 38 power-play goals, four shorthanded goals, 18 game-winning goals, and 81 penalty minutes. In 32 playoff games, he had 22 points on nine goals and 13 assists. He was a minus-seven with two power-play goals, two game-winning goals, and eight penalty minutes.
