Savannah Ghost Pirates Micheal Bullion is tied with three others for the most shutouts this season. Four is this regulation season ends magic number, and joining Michael with this honor is Florida Everblades Cam Johnson, and Wheeling Nailers Taylor Gauthier.

Michael Bullion has had a great season, even if the Ghost Pirates are not joining the Everblades or the Wheeling Nailers in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. He finishes his season with a 2.77GAA and a .908SV%. This season, we saw Bullion in net 32 times, with 15 Wins, ten losses, two overtime losses, and one shootout loss. His stellar abilities, leading to two games with over 33 saves against the Rapid City Rush this season, garnered him a Goalie of the Week Recognition by Warrior Hockey. Michael had 11 games this season where he saw more than 30 Shots on Goal.

Michael is an Alaska Native from Anchorage and didn’t have the traditional start to his career like many players, he started as a figure skater. There weren’t many Professional players from his state when he was growing up to look up to, and his family were all skaters of the “toe pick” community. Once he found his love of hockey, it was love at first sight and he joined the local leagues, eventually making his way to Malvern Prep at 14. He then joined the Canadian Junior Leagues and Western Hockey League and his college career with The University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

Bullion made his professional debut on January 15th, 2022, with the Norfolk Admirals against the South Carolina Stingrays. He played for the Admirals before joining the Ghost Pirates in the 2023 season and didn’t have the best start to his 2022 season. Two days before the start of his second season, moves were made by the holder of his contract, and Bullion was sent down to the Macon Mayhems of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Only spending one week there, Michael received a call from the Ghost Pirates’ Head coach, Rick Bennett, who needed a goal to replace an injured Isaiah Saville. While with the Ghost Pirates completing 885 net saves for this season, Michael was called up to their AHL affiliate, the Henderson Silver Knights, where he played two games with a 1-1 performance.

Bullion extended his contract with Savannah last summer, and hopefully, with his performance this year, he will be staying in Savannah.
