Seattle Kraken Make A Flurry of Roster Moves

The Seattle Kraken are off tonight but will return to the ice on Thursday night in Columbus as they’ll face the Columbus Blue Jackets. In their last game, they suffered a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils, it was their third straight loss. Today it was announced that they are getting a reinforcement back as goalie Joey Daccord has been activated off injured reserve. They also called up forward Mitchell Stephens from Coachella Valley of the AHL. They sent defenseman Cale Fleury, forward Ben Meyers, and goalie Ales Stezka down to Coachella Valley.

Joey Daccord

Daccord hasn’t played since December 22nd when he suffered the loss, and it was his fourth straight loss. He is 12-9-2 this season with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage. The Boston, Massachusetts native is in his sixth season and he is 34-36-15 with a 2.70 career goals against average and a .908 save percentage.

Mitchell Stephens

Stephens has appeared in nine games this season with the Kraken recording one point on an assist. This season he’s appeared in 18 games with Coachella Valley recording four goals and four assists. He has spent time with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, and Montreal Canadiens in his career. He would appear in 104 career games recording 17 points on five goals and 17 assists.

Cale Fleury

Fleury has played in two games with Seattle this season and failed to record a point. In Coachella Valley this season he has 14 points in 19 games on five goals and 19 assists. He is coming off his best season in the AHL last season in which in 65 games he had 36 points on seven goals and 29 assists while in 18 playoff games, he had 14 points on five goals and nine assists.  

Ben Meyers

Meyers appeared in six games this season with Seattle without recording a point while playing with Coachella Valley he had 21 points in 25 games with ten goals and 11 assists. Previously, he played with the Anaheim Ducks and Colorado Avalanche appearing in 67 games recording eight points on six goals and two assists.

Ales Stezka

Stezka didn’t appear in a game while he was with Seattle as he filled in while Daccord was out. He’s made 18 appearances in the AHL going 6-9-6 with a .906 save percentage and a 2.94 goals-against average. Last season, in his first season with Coachella Valley he played in 27 games going 18-6-2 with a .914 save percentage and a 2.48 goals-against average.
