Seattle Kraken Sign Defenseman Mitch Reinke

The Seattle Kraken have signed defenseman Mitch Reinke to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775K. Reinke played for two seasons with the San Antonio Rampage, who are no longer an AHL team, from 2018-19 to 2019-20. For part of the 2020-21 season, he was with the Utica Comets, and for the last two seasons, Reinke played for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Mitch will likely spend most of the 2023-24 season with the Kraken’s AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

The defenseman had some pretty successful years with the San Antonio Rampage. In 2018-19, Reinke put up 12 goals and 33 assists for 45 points in 76 games with the Rampage. The next season, in 2019-20, he recorded five goals and 17 assists for 22 points in 46 games. In the 2020-2021 season, with the Utica Comets, Mitch Reinke obtained two goals and ten assists for 12 points in 18 games.

Mitch started his career with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2021-22. In his first season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Reinke recorded three goals and 24 assists for 27 total points in 63 games. The following year, in 2022-23, also with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he only put up one goal, but 26 assists for 27 points in 52 games. For a defenseman, Mitch is someone who can definitely put up points. Statistics-wise, Reinke is a consistent player, as he’s had pretty steady seasons these past few years, no matter which team he was playing for. He will be a good addition to help the defensive core of the Firebirds. Hopefully, someday we’ll see Mitch Reinke play for the Seattle Kraken, depending on how he performs with Coachella Valley.
