The Macon Mayhem have announced that forward A.J. Ryan will be joining them for the 2024-25 season. Hailing from Tecumseh, Ontario, the 24-year-old made his professional debut late last season with the Birmingham Bulls, participating in six games.
Before starting his professional career, Ryan played three seasons at NCAA-DIII SUNY-Oswego. In the 2023-24 season, Ryan was featured in 25 games for the Lakers, where he managed to score eight points, including five goals and three assists. Looking back at the previous season (2022-23), he participated in 5 games, while in the 2021-22 season, he took part in 23 games, tallying a total of five points through two goals and three assists.
Ryan took part in a few seasons of junior hockey and joined the Cobourg Cougars (OJHL), appearing in 22 games with the team. During his time there, he netted five goals, provided 11 assists, accumulating a total of 16 points, and clocked in 12 penalty minutes. Additionally, in that same season, he also played for the Chatham Maroons, where he tallied seven goals and 15 assists, totaling 22 points. During the playoffs, he delivered four goals and six assists, accumulating a total of 10 points throughout seven games. He also played three seasons with the LaSalle Vipers and over 101 games added 42 goals. 52 assists for 94 point points.
A.J. Ryan will join teammates Hugh Anderson, Brandon Picard, Noah Robinson, Josh Boyko, Michael McChesney, Jarret Kup, Tao Ishizuka and Brad Jenion as the Mayhem kick off their season at the Macon Coliseum on October 19th, facing off against the Birmingham Bulls at home.
