Springfield Thunderbirds Forward Named to 2024-25 Top Prospect Team

The 2024-25 AHL Top Prospect Team was announced yesterday, and the Springfield Thunderbirds had a forward make the team. The team is determined by the AHL’s hockey operations department in conjunction with AHL general managers. It includes three forwards, two defenseman, and a goalie who are projected to be the best future NHL players. To qualify for the team, skaters must be 22 years old or younger at the start of the regular season and have played in at least 36 regular-season games in the AHL and less than 30 regular-season games in the NHL during the season. Goalie must be 23 years old or younger and have played in at least 25 AHL games and less than 20 NHL games.

The Thunderbirds were represented by Dalibor Dvorský, who had 45 points on 21 goals and 24 assists in 61 games this season. He made his NHL debut this season as well on March 23rd against the Nashville Predators. In three Calder Cup playoff games, he had two assists. He finished tied for ninth in the AHL in power-play goals with ten.

Dalibor Dvorský

Dvorský was drafted by the St. Louis Blues with the tenth overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. In 2023-24, before being drafted by the Blues, he played in 52 games for the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL. He had 88 points on 45 goals and 43 assists. He also played for Slovakia in the World Juniors this season, playing in five games, recording nine points on five goals and four assists.
