St. Louis Blues Sign Pius Suter

The St. Louis Blues have lured Pius Suter away from the Vancouver Canucks. Suter signs a two-year contract worth $8.25 million. He will make four million in the first season and $4.25 million in year two. Suter is coming off a season in which he recorded a career-high 46 points on 25 goals and 21 assists in 81 games. The 25 goals were also a career high. He was a plus-two and had five power-play points.

The Blues will be Suter’s fourth team in six seasons. In 364 career games, he has 162 points on 82 goals and 80 assists. He is even in plus/minus and has 16 power-play points in his career. Suter started with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2020-21, where in 55 games he had 27 points on 14 goals and 13 assists. He was a minus-five with three power-play goals. Suter signed with the Detroit Red Wings on July 28, 2021, where in two seasons he played in 161 games, recording 60 points on 29 goals and 31 assists. He was a -14, had three power-play points, and three shorthanded goals. Suter then signed with the Canucks where he spent the last two seasons appearing in 148 games recording 75 points on 39 goals and 36 assists. He was a +19 with ten power-play points and one shorthanded goal.
