The Boston Bruins are on top of the NHL right now as they are the best team in the NHL and riding a six-game win streak into tonight’s game against the Edmonton Oilers. Just when the Bruins were thought to finally be healthy after returning Jake DeBrusk and Tomas Nosek to the lineup, the injury bug struck again.
Taylor Hall was scratched from this morning’s practice. To the outside looking in, it just seemed like a maintenance day or a wake-up call for the veteran winger, as he’s been in a slump since the start of 2023. But other news has surfaced as it appears Taylor Hall has suffered a lower-body injury and has returned to Boston.
The good news is head coach Jim Montgomery does not believe the injury to be serious in nature, and with the Bruins wrapping up their road trip tomorrow night after a game against the Calgary Flames, it’s better to play it safe. No one is sure how long this lower-body injury has been bothering Hall, but if it’s been a lingering issue, it could explain his drop in production.
With Hall out of the lineup, the Bruins’ practice lines looked a little different this morning as Nick Foligno slid up to fill Hall’s third-line left-wing spot. With AJ Greer inserting on to the fourth line alongside Nosek and Garent Hataway.
You can see the full practice lines below:
Hopefully, in the coming days, more information is released as to what Hall’s status will be moving forward. With the Bruins having 24 games left before the regular season concludes, there is no rush to get Hall back as he will play a key role in a playoff run, and having him 100 percent healthy is a priority.
