RALEIGH, North Carolina: Former first-overall pick and sudden star in Carolina, Taylor Hall, has signed a three-year, 9.5 million extension with the Hurricanes.
In a press release on April 30, Carolina GM Eric Tulsky stated, “Taylor has proven to be an outstanding fit for our team, and we are thrilled that he is excited to make Raleigh his home for another three seasons. He’s been a solid veteran presence in the locker room and a difference maker on the ice.”
Hall told the media after signing the deal, “This team, right from the moment I got here, made me feel comfortable. The coaching staff pushed me, and the guys in the room have been just incredible at making me feel welcome and making me feel like this is a place that I want to play.”
Hall also told the media, “I feel very fortunate to be a Hurricane… I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.”

Since being traded from the Chicago Blackhawks in a three-way trade involving Dallas’s Mikko Rantanen, Hall has tied for third on the team in points and is third in team goals. He is first among Carolina skaters in regular-season power-play goals with four and second in game-winning goals with two.
Hall’s deal includes a no-move clause (NMC), which will eventually become a ten-team no-trade clause in 2027-28 if Hall does not score 35 points during the 2026-2027 season, which is the second year of the extension.
