HENDERSON, Nev – The Henderson Silver Knights took down the Bakersfield Condors, 4-2, Friday evening, marking the team’s first victory against the Condors this season.
The Condors opened the scoring early in the first off a swift power play goal from Lane Pederson, just under 4 minutes into the contest. Pederson’s 21st goal of the season was assisted by Seth Griffith and Philip Broberg.
Henderson would strike back a couple minutes later, as Adam Cracknell would net his 18th of the year, assisted by Jonas Rondbjerg and Dysin Mayo. Cracknell would finish the night with 3 points.
Bakersfield’s Dylan Holloway would score the Condors last tally early in the second period, assisted by Raphael Lavoie.
The Silver Knights responded by scoring three unanswered goals, despite producing less shots than Bakersfield in the final two frames. Goaltender Jesper Vikman held his own for Henderson, keeping a clean sheet for the last half of the game.
The Silver Knights are still in the hunt for the final playoff spot, and will have six home games in their next eight to play. The Abbotsford Canucks are the only team in their path, though their magic number to clinch the final spot is only 5 points. The Canucks have 9 games remaining on their schedule.
Henderson will skate against the Pacific Division’s top team, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Saturday evening.
