Tyler Toffoli Traded to New Jersey Devils

The Calgary Flames and The New Jersey Devils have completed a trade surrounding forward Tyler Toffoli. This trade isn’t surprising, as Toffolli went on the record that he was willing to be traded to any team in the league. Toffolli voicing his discontent in the Calgary Flames organization isn’t the first player that has done this.

Calgary received forward Yegor Sharangovich and a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, where Calgary will select 80th overall. This third-round pick originally belonged to Calgary and has been traded multiple times.

The New Jersey Devils received Tyler Toffoli’s deal in full, $4.25 million for one year. Toffoli had a career-high in goals (34), assists (39), and points (73) in 82 games for the Calgary Flames in the 2022-23 season.

Sharangovic is a restricted free agent with arbitration rights and will enter contract negotiations with the Calgary Flames.
