According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Toronto Maple Leafs have placed goaltender Ilya Samsonov on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

It is believed, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Toronto Maple Leafs have called up rookie Goaltender Dennis Hildeby from the Toronto Marlies (AHL). He will likely be going on the trip to California with the Leafs, Friedman added. Ilya Samsonov has a 3.94 GAA, along with an 8.62 Save percentage. The Leafs will likely look to get Samsonov his confidence back with the Toronto Marlies. The Leafs are unlikely to trade for a goaltender, at least right now. However, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Leafs have at least poked around at a possible trade for a goalie. We will wait to see how this progresses over time.

Edmonton Oilers Playoff Thoughts: Round 2, Game 4

Corey Perry held a Mother’s Day event for all of his Edmonton Oilers teammates yesterday. I’m sure all the mothers liked that better than the last-second present they got the night before. The Edmonton Oilers are still up 2-1 in the series, and they were due for a loss after six straight wins. It’s how […]

3 Takeaways From The Florida Panthers & Toronto Maple Leafs Game 3 | 05/09/2025

Everything that could’ve gone wrong in Toronto did go wrong. Every fluke bounce went for the Leafs, Florida’s defense not doing as good of a job as it could, Bob letting in goals that fans know he could stop, and officiating that could be called questionable at best. Both games up north were winnable for […]
