Tulsa Oilers Transactions | 03/05/2024

The Tulsa Oilers lost a player to recall to the AHL and signed a player out of college on Tuesday.

The Chicago Wolves of the AHL recalled 26-year-old Prades, France native Julian Junca. He started playing in the Ligue Magnus, France’s premier professional hockey league, in 2018 when he signed with Bordeaux. He went 6-10-0 in two seasons for Bordeaux before signing with Gap. He spent three seasons with Gap, posting a 48-42-0 record and six shutouts. Junca received the Ligue Magnus Best Goaltender of the Year last season with a 17-16-0 record, three shutouts, and a .921 save percentage. He signed a contract and has appeared in 27 games for the Oilers this season, posting a 13-11-3 record with one shutout. He has one appearance for the Chicago Wolves this season, losing that game against the Cleveland Monsters.

24-year-old Lockport, Ill. native Josh Nelson signed his first professional contract with the Tulsa Oilers Tuesday. He joins the Oilers from St. Francis Xavier University, where he played 84 games, scoring 32 goals, 35 assists, and 67 points.

On Wednesday, the Tulsa Oilers travel to Wichita, Kan., to play the Wichita Thunder at 7:05 p.m. at INTRUST Bank Arena.
