
The 2025 World Juniors Summer Showcase roster has been announced, Team USA features two Detroit Red Wings prospects. One prospect in forward Max Plante from Minnesota-Duluth. The other is a defenseman in John Whipple from Minnesota.

Max Plante
The Detroit Red Wings drafted Plante 47th overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Plante, this past season in his first season at Minnesota-Duluth, played in 23 games. He recorded 28 points on nine goals and 19 assists. Plante was a plus-five with three power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 16 penalty minutes. He also played in the World Juniors this season, appearing in six games, recording three points on a goal and two assists. Max Plante was a plus-three with four penalty minutes. He spent the 2023-24 season with the ted States National Development Team. In 76 games combined, he had 90 points on 21 goals and 69 assists. He was a +25 with 22 penalty minutes.
John Whipple
The Detroit Red Wings drafted Whipple with the 144th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. In 29 games for the Golden Gophers this past season, he had three assists. He was a plus-four with six penalty minutes. In 2023-24, he also played on the Team USA Development Team, appearing in 88 games, recording 21 points on three goals and 18 assists. He was a +25 with 92 penalty minutes. In seven games at the World Juniors-18, he scored a goal. He was a plus-three and didn’t register a penalty.
