Linus Ullmark Captures Vezina Trophy & William Jennings Trophy

The Boston Bruins have found their rock in the net with Linus Ullmark, Jeremy Swayman isn’t too far from having a solid contention for the Bruins’ starting goaltender spot. However, Linus Ullmark started in goal 49 times for the Bruins, winning 40 games and losing seven.

Ullmark posted a 40-6-1 record alongside his .938 save percentage, and a 1.89 goals-against average leading him to his first Vezina Trophy win. Ullmark’s 40-season was tied for the most in the NHL this season.

Ullmark also won the William M. Jennings Trophy, which is given to the goaltender(s) who played for the team with the fewest goals scored against.

The other finalists for the Vezina Trophy was Winnipeg Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck, who received the third-place nomination. Ilya Sorokin received second place in the 2023 Vezina Trophy voting. The Vezina Trophy is given to the goalie who is considered the best at their position and then voted on by the NHL general managers.
