USPHL: Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers Southeast Showcase Preview

Photo: Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers

With the USPHL beginning play this weekend in the Premier division, we are just over three weeks away from the annual USPHL Southeast Showcase. This year, the Hampton Roads Whalers will be hosting at Chilled Ponds Ice Sports Complex in Chesapeake, VA, from Sept. 27 to Sept. 30.

The showcase will feature the Southeast Division’s Whalers, Potomac Patriots, Charlotte Rush, and Carolina Jr. Hurricanes. The South Division’s Tampa Bay Juniors, Florida Eels, Florida Junior Blades, Atlanta Mad Hatters, Palm Beach Typhoon, and Bold City Battalion will also be making the trip. At the same time, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights of the Elite and Premier Atlantic Division will join. The Red River Spartans will round out the showcase, representing the Great Lakes Division at the Premier level. With the USPHL being a trustworthy league when it comes to developing players to prepare for the next level and the high rate of college commitments seen from the league, coaches and scouts from colleges, NCDC, USHL, and/or NAHL teams will be tuning in to scout players early and see who to keep an eye on.

The Elite Division will kick things off when the host Whalers take on the Junior Everblades at 8 a.m. on the Sentara Healthcare Rink, while the Mad Hatters take on the Patriots at 8:30 a.m. on the Optima Health Rink. The schedule for the entire showcase can be seen below and all games can be viewed on FloHockey.
