Utah Hockey Club Lose Forward, Recall Forward from Tucson

The Utah Hockey Club will face the San Jose Sharks tonight at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, UT. They have now dropped two straight games and are 3-5-2 in their last ten. Utah currently sits five points out of the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference entering play tonight. Today they announced that forward Dylan Guenther will be out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. With Guenther being out they have recalled Josh Doan from the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL. Doan is expected to play on the second line tonight with Barrett Hayton and Matias Maccelli.

Dylan Guenther

Guenther is in his third season in the NHL. The Arizona Coyotes selected Guenther ninth overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. In his rookie season, he had 15 points in 33 games on six goals and nine assists. He had six power-play points with four of those coming as goals. In 2023-24 Guenther had 35 points in 45 games, on 18 goals and 17 assists. He had 13 power-play points with nine of those coming on goals. This season he was on pace for a career-high in points, goals, and assists. In 40 games he has 34 points on 16 goals and 18 assists. He had 16 power-play points with seven of those coming as goals.

Josh Doan

The Arizona Coyotes selected Doan in the second round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. In 20 career NHL games, Doan’s recorded 11 points on six goals and five assists. Doan has played in 50 games with Tucson recording 73 points on 37 goals and 36 assists. This season in 25 games with the Roadrunners he has 21 points on eight goals and 13 assists. Doan was selected to be Tucson’s representative at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic. Doan is also the son of Coyotes great Shane Doan.
