Vancouver Canucks Activate Forward

The Vancouver Canucks tonight will face off against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canucks are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night. They’ve now lost three straight games but still hold the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Ahead of tonight’s game, they get a much-needed boost as they have activated forward Elias Pettersson off of injured reserve according to Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin. Allvin also announced the other that defenseman Filip Hronek was sent to Abbotsford of the AHL for conditioning. More help is coming for the Canucks.

Elias Pettersson 

Pettersson is in his seventh season all with the Canucks. He was drafted by Vancouver with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He’s played in 441 career games. Pettersson has recorded 440 career points on 180 goals and 260 assists. He has 56 career power-play goals and is a career +53.

This season in 34 games he has 28 points on ten goals and 18 assists. He is a -3 and has five power-play goals. He won the Calder Memorial Trophy for the 2018-19 season. He’s a four-time All-Star. He’s reportedly been on the trading block as of late so it’ll be interesting to see what happens with his return between now and the trade deadline on March 7th.
