Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced this morning that star forward J.T. Miller is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team for personal reasons. “Right now, our sole focus is making sure that J.T. knows the entire organization is here to support him. Out of respect to J.T., we will have no further comment at this time.” Miller was benched for the majority of the third period by head coach Rick Tocchet in their last game against the Predators. When asked if it was injury-related, Tocchet replied, “No.”

This is a major blow to the team, especially with star winger Brock Boeser out with an apparent concussion. Whatever is going on with J.T., the entire Canucks nation hopes for the best outcome for him. Miller has six goals and ten assists in 17 games for the Canucks this season. The team has a 9-5-3 record over that span.

Losing J.T. Miller will definitely be a tough blow for the Canucks, especially given his significant contribution to the team’s offense. With him out, it’s going to be crucial for players like Elias Pettersson, and Jake DeBrusk to elevate their game. Pettersson has shown he can be a game-changer and DeBrusk’s versatility could also be key in filling the gap left by Miller.
