
The Vancouver Canucks this morning announced that they have agreed to terms with goalie Thatcher Demko as well as forward Conor Garland. Demko’s deal is for three years with an $8.5 million AAV. Garland’s deal is for six years with a $6 million AAV. Demko in 23 games last season, went 10-8-3 with a 2.90 goals-against average, a .889 save percentage, and a shutout. Garland, in 81 games, recorded 50 points on 19 goals and 31 assists. He was a -13, with 16 power-play points, and four game-winning goals.

Thatcher Demko
The Canucks drafted Demko 36th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. In eight seasons, he’s played in 242 games, going 126-89-20. He’s posting a career .910 save percentage, a 2.80 goals-against average, and nine shutouts. Thatcher Demko finished second in Vezina Trophy voting in 2023-24 when he went 35-14-2 with a .918 save percentage, a 2.45 goals-against average, and five shutouts.

Conor Garland
The Arizona Coyotes drafted Garland with the 123rd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In seven seasons in the NHL, he has played in 485 games. Garland has 291 career points on 122 goals and 169 assists. He is a career +18 with 62 power-play points and 20 game-winning goals. In four seasons with the Canucks, he’s played in 321 games, recording 195 points on 75 goals and 120 assists. He is +19 with 36 power-play points and 12 game-winning goals.
