After being acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Vancouver Canucks wasted no time in getting Marcus Pettersson signed to a long-term extension. After two games with the club, he has signed a six-year extension with the Canucks.

Pettersson, 28, was a second-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2014. He has spent the last seven seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins, part of which under the management of Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin.

I am super impressed with Canucks management, we moved quickly, Marcus was impressed with Vancouver, there was no hesitation from him.

Marcus Pettersson was in the final year of his deal with an average annual value of $4m. He has played in 493 NHL games and scored 151 points with 294 penalty minutes.
