The Vegas Golden Knights are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. It was their third loss in their last four games and they ended January going 6-6-3 averaging 2.93 goals per game and allowing an average of 2.80 goals per game. They have lost first place in the Pacific Division. Today they hope they addressed their offense by signing Brandon Saad to a one-year, 1.5 million deal. Vegas will return to the ice on Sunday against the New York Rangers with Saad proving he can still compete at the NHL level.

The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Saad 43rd overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He’s currently in his 14th NHL season. He’s played with the Chicago Blackhawks on two stints, Columbus Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, and St. Louis Blues.
