The Winnipeg Jets announced their 2025-26 season schedule today. It includes notable dates on the calendar for player returns, road and home game stretches, opponent facts, and more.
Fortunately for Jets fans, the season starts and ends at home. The season/home opener is set to begin on Thursday, October 9th, when the Jets face the Dallas Stars for a quick reunion of their second-round 2025 playoff matchup that ended in March.
The biggest thing that fans will have to take into account is that the Jets play 15 of their first 26 games on the road. This early stretch will test the Jets, who posted a 26-15-0 record on the road in 2024-25, but their 30-7-4 record at home was the real marker of their remarkable season. With not much home cooking for the Jets in the early stretch of the season, it provides a significant challenge that the team has to show they can overcome if they want to be successful in 2025-26.
When it comes to road trips and home stands, the Jets have a couple of long stretches at home and away from home. The longest road trip of the season starts on November 4th in Los Angeles, facing the Kings. The Jets will then play the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, Vancouver Canucks, Seattle Kraken, and finish in Calgary to face the Flames on November 16th.
On the flip side, the Jets have another lengthy home stand similar to the 2024-25 season. The Jets have an eight-game home stand starting on March 3rd to face the Chicago Blackhawks. The Jets will then play the Tampa Bay Lightning, Canucks, Ducks, New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues, and Nashville to face the Predators on March 17th to close the home stretch.
The Jets also have 26 Central Division games in 2024-25. See the list below to view how many times the Jets face a Central Division opponent:
- Chicago Blackhawks, four games
- Colorado Avalanche, four games
- Dallas Stars, four games
- Minnesota Wild, four games
- St. Louis Blues, four games
- Nashville Predators, three games
- Utah Mammoth, three games
The Jets will play nine back-to-backs in the 2025-26 season, with four being road games, three as home games, and two being split between home and away games.
The busiest months for the 2025-26 season and the Winnipeg Jets are January and March, but the teams and players will get some extra time to rest as they have a three-week break in February to showcase the NHL players participating in the 2026 Milan Olympics. The NHL and its players are participating for the first time since 2014.
Finally, the Jets will face Canadian opponents 15 times, with seven at home and eight on the road. The only teams they host twice are the Edmonton Oilers, while the Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Vancouver Canucks make just one trip to Canada Life Centre.
