The Winnipeg Jets will be headed down to the Bell Centre to take part in a new summer prospect tournament, the Prospect Showdown.
Over the last few years, the Jets’ prospects alongside the Moose’s coaching staff would head down to British Columbia in mid-September to take on the Canucks, Oilers, and Flames prospects in the Young Stars Classic.
It came out earlier in the summer that the 2025 edition of the Young Stars Classic wasn’t happening this year, and now the Jets head to Quebec for the Prospect Showdown. Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa will also be sending their prospects to the tournament ahead of training camp.
The tournament takes place over the weekend of September 13th and 14th. Per the schedule, the Jets face the Canadiens on September 13th at 7:00 pm and the Senators on the following day at the same time. Times are likely in EST, but no time zone was posted on the official release.
Rosters have yet to be announced for the tournament, and where to watch isn’t available yet.
It is to be expected that top prospects from each team will participate, as it’s a great chance for the young stars to get some extra work in before training camp starts.
Prospect tournaments are also a strong chance for fans to see their teams’ up-and-coming stars for a reasonable price.
The Jets will likely be sending their 2025 Draft Class alongside other top prospects eligible to take part in the 2025 Prospect Showdown presented by IGA in collaboration with Voisin.
