The Winnipeg Jets announced today that they have re-signed Vladislav Namestnikov to a two-year contract extension with an average annual value of $3 million.

Namestnikov is currently in his third season with the Winnipeg Jets since he was acquired in the 2022-23 season for a 2025 fourth-round draft selection. This transaction came close to the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline.

The Jets re-signed Namestnikov to a two-year contract with an AAV of $2 million which is set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Namestnikov has played a strong role in the Jets’ bottom six and has been a great middle-six option when called upon.

Originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning at 27th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Namestnikov has had quite the NHL journey. He’s played for Tampa Bay in two separate stints, the New York Rangers, the Ottawa Senators, the Colorado Avalanche, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Dallas Stars before joining the Winnipeg Jets.

In Namestnikov’s 760 career NHL games, he’s posted 327 points (136G, 191A) and 400 PIMs and a career plus-minus of plus-44.

Since joining the Winnipeg Jets, Namestnikov has posted 76 points (23G, 53A) in 150 games for Winnipeg.

From Voskresenk, Russia, the 32-year-old centre has continued to show excellence in his roles. Namestnikov locks up some security over the next couple of years while the Winnipeg Jets take one of their pending unrestricted free agents off the list.

Namestnikov’s two-year, $3 million AAV extension will expire at the end of the 2026-27 season when he is 34.
